The i3+ EVO is different from the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base when it is full. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and keeps the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dust bin can hold 2.4L of trash that is enough to get it through four or five cleaning sessions before you need to replace it.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It also allows you to navigate through neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of picking up surface debris when compared to other robovacs that we have reviewed, but it is not the best in cleaning edges and corners. It is also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably silent. It was a bit rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the test bed.
